Northern Pike:

  • Average Size: Up to 12 lbs.
  • Times & Places: All year: shallow bays and marshes
  • Outline: Vicious strikes are their trademark. Use large spoons, plugs, spinners or live bait and hold on, because Northern grow big and mean in Ontario/1000 Islands. A number of fish from 15 to 20 pounds are caught each year in the St. Lawrence, the Cataraqui River and Colonel By Lake.
